Who What Wear - Fall Wedding
Fall is in the air, and lately that has meant being a guest at two lovely outdoor fall weddings. As I mentioned in this post, I commonly get asked about what to wear to these sorts of events, so here we go!
WHO - Wedding 1) close family friend (read known the bride since birth) attended this with my parents, and my sister was a bridesmaid. Wedding 2) boyfriend's sister's brother-in-law (he works out at the gym, and he and his bride are very hip, young & stylish)
WHAT - Outdoor weddings
WEAR - One fall dress worn 2 ways (Yes! I recycle! )

Since wedding #1 was a little more formal, and hosted at the country club, this was the time to glam it up a bit with accessories. Last Christmas, my parents gifted my sister and I with this gorgeous gucci scarf. This item goes everywhere with me, and this event was no exception. The scarf itself is oversized, and can be tied, wrapped, or draped. I have even used it as a mini blanket on cold flights!
Since the wedding was in the mid afternoon, and Texas can't make its mind up about the weather, the scarf was a "nod" to fall, and then covered my shoulders during the ceremony from the sun. Which leads me to my next "must take to outdoor" weddings accessory. SUNNIES. These rose gold aviators saved the day & coordinated with the rose gold hardware on my handbag. Again, since we were welcoming in fall, I chose suede pumps to finish off the look.
As for my jewelry, I kept it pretty simple, and let the scarf do all the talking. I did however receive the sweetest gift from the bride for helping with her shower invites. The monogramed bangle fit perfectly with my wrist "stack", and served as a special nod to the bride on her special day.
Up next was wedding #2 the following weekend. This wedding was an evening wedding, but was on a ranch, and the reception was in an unbelievable barn. The invite stated to "dress appropriately". Here was my take on the same dress, but more trendy and casual.
I am so on board with the fall floppy hat trend! Have you tried it? This one is under $25!!! Just like the scarf, this was the main game changer for the dress the second time around. The boots are some of my favorites, and I was excited the weather was just cool enough to pull them out. They are flat, and due to the event being outdoors and on grass/rock terrain, I am happy to report no shoe drama! Since everything from head to toe was pretty neutral, I added in a pop of purple in the handbag, and an attempt at the fall vampy lip from this post.
So what do you think? Which version of the dress do you prefer?

The boots I wore have been in my closet for over 5 years! Here are some links to some that I am drooling over. I love that fringe is having a moment. Having fringe detail on the boot is a way to subtly try the trend.
