Use Your Words this Valentines Day

We have a saying around my house... use your words. Funny enough, my household consists of Gracie and I, but you get the jist. I first started using the phrase when my sister and I started out in business together. She's an introvert, and I'm an extrovert. I would find myself repeating over and over "use your words" when I could tell something was bothering her. It drove her crazy, and now it's something we tease one another with.

But, while I was thinking about my post yesterday, and what today's follow up post should be, I couldn't shake the following thought. For me all the little luxuries like this, and this are nice, however, I never tire of the legit handwritten old school Valentine. You know the ones. The ones that make your heart skip a beat, because well if we are being honest, these days they are few and far between. This my friends is the magic that makes them extra special.

I keep all my Valentines on a ring. Then, every year I pull them out and read over them. They are some of my most treasured possessions.

Yesterday, I told y'all this Valentines thing is a family thing, and that even my Aunts are involved. See that card right there? That is this years installment of greatness from Aunt Sylvia. You guys, she handpainted this, and then wrote the sweetest words ever on the inside.

These gorgeous floral cards were a Valentine's gift from Aunt Jane-Anne. She hand pressed those flowers, made them into cards, and sent me my own special set of stationery.

See this envelope? Please note the sending post office stamp. Yes, you read that correctly, it was sent from VALENTINE, TX. Aunt Judy for as long as I can remember mails us all Valentines cards, from Valentine, Texas. Yes folks, she drives there to have them mailed with this on them.

So friends, this year USE YOUR WORDS. Take some time, and put some effort to writing some sentiments to those that you love. They may just keep them forever.
